Green's Battation

Humanities Greatest Heroes

The Green's Battalion Commonly referred to as "Greens" was created and formed as an elite anti-monster fighting force that could engage and defeat any monster or combination of monsters with relative ease. In 1863 CD Major breakthroughs in Agewood sciences would allow highly resilient and expertly trained magicians to be able to consume Agewood Dust in order to gain its divine enhancing properties. Along with the advances that were made in Firearm technology, this allowed the production of soldiers that could combat groups of monsters with an ease that was never believed possible. The Green's Battalion is normally used as either a forward attacking force or as a supporting force for regular allied troops.
Due to the method by which these soldier are made and the abilities they possess, they are seen by the nations of men as more than just an elite fighting force. They, by the wider world are seen as a holy force gifted the powers of the divine, standing alongside the other Holy orders such as the Agewood Knights and the Clover Maidens. Because of this relationship with divinity the Members of the Greens Battalion are both in a position of privilege and religious duty.

    • Attacker: Fills the role of squad commander, a person chosen for attacker must be exceptionally skilled in command even by Green Battalion Standards.
    • Supporter: The brains of the squad, is expected to have exceptional knowledge of combat tactics as well as the ability to manage other members while in combat.
    • Defender: The Vanguard of the squad that focuses of protecting the team as well as cover the the holes that the other members may create while in combat.

    Tactics

Tactics employed by the Green's Battalion focus mainly of unity and interdependence. the monster races on Gaia generally are much stronger that humans, so working together effectively is imperative. Attacks are well coordinated with each individual enhancing each others roles. Squads follow a three man configuration while in combat and if squads have to work together it is always in multiples of three.
    • Engagement from distance is the preferred method of combat, this is usually done by use of rifles amplified by magic or by magic alone. Such barrages of magistry are harmonious with each other; amplifying and mixing to create a greater effective range and adapting to changing conditions.
    • Close quarters engagement involves out numbering and overwhelming individual opponents, done with sabers, knives, and other close combat weapons. Combat of this nature involves members following up on maneuvers initiated by the previous member in a fluid, coordinated and almost dance-like manner. This allows for a disorienting flurry of both offence and defense focused on entirely preventing the opportunity of counter-attack.

    Training

All members of the Green's Battalion are magic users, this is a mandatory requirement for joining the greens. Those in training are trained to the peak of excellence in the combat, tactics and geopolitical arts, the training regiment unforgiving to the point that 90% of all cadets in training fail. Those who succesfully manage to become a Green are endowed with incredible gifts that serve them in thier duties and soldiers.

    Logistics

    Logistical Support

Logistical support is provided by Human Federation bases and outposts that vary in number by nation and by strategic importance. These locations provide dwelling, food, equipment repair and replacement, but most importantly; theses bases provide a communications link to central and regional Federation headquarters.

    Recruitment

In order to be eligible for membership into the Green's Battalion men hoping in to apply must be have the unique capacity to use magic.

    History

While the Human Federation had been seeing much success in pursuing its primary goals of serving as a bulwark against the monster threat, many of the military leaders both within the organization and of allied nations felt that the number casualties that were sustained in doing so were utterly unacceptable pushed for improvements that would curtail the issue. While Federation forces performed reliably enough especially during large scale battles in joint operations with allied forces and Mage Battalions, they often found themselves severely out of their depth when having to go toe-to-toe with them enemy. The issue was, for all their technologic and strategic superiority, that humans are still inherently slower, less responsive and weaker than monsters. What they needed were soldiers who were capable of defeating monsters by their own power and to do so with relative ease an ambitious feat for one to do even with magicians.
The Federations first look was to increase the number of magicians in their ranks, but this manning was impossible to inflate due the statistic of people that are born with magical capacities and even if they were to have the statistics on their side they would quickly be pressed into service by their nations of birth rather than being free to join the Federation. The next look was to the Order of The Clover the preeminent faith of humanity, as their ranks were filled with those born of divine blood and unmatched in every degree that not even monster could compete with them. This was quickly shutdown down by the Order who had for millennia removed its self from human affairs, acting only when humanity faced untold peril. With The Federation having long been successful in battle overall the Order of the Clover deemed their involvement unnecessary and an attempt by humanity to sway them from their divine path.
Having Exhausted many other options the federation turned to the sciences to improved their soldiers. Many failures would ensue and the head of the Federation was all but ready to declare the project a failure, but a sudden and accidental breakthrough would occur. The scientists had discovered a way albeit difficult way of allowing magicians of unparalleled ability to consume very small quantities of Agewood which had endowed them with the divine properties of the material. This miracle discovery was put to quick testing and it was found that the abilities of those who were compatible with the Agewood substance displayed strength and abilities that only those of divine blood could preform.
