Hilger Windslayer
Hilger Windslayer
Biological parent of Gerfield Windslayer
4E 555 - 400
The younger son of Evander and Hanifa, was known for his sharp intellect and diplomatic prowess. With a lean, athletic build and the piercing gaze of his mother, he was more suited to court intrigue than the battlefield. Though he trained in combat like all Windslayers, Hilger excelled in negotiations, often serving as a mediator in tense disputes between rival factions in Arboran. His natural charm and cunning allowed him to manipulate situations to his family’s advantage, though some saw him as calculating and distant. Unlike his brother Arren, Hilger thrived in the world of politics rather than warfare.
When his father was deemed unfit for the Eastking throne, the Rite of Challenge was enacted by Hilger’s grandfather Ivorus. A leader could not be unanimously chosen by the Chiefs and thus the first Eastern Moot was held. Hilger competed against his own father, his brother, his aunt Aundrea and his cousins. Hilger was defeated in an early round and watched his brother Arren lose his life in the Moot. Evander, Hilger’s father was spared his life but was defeated by his own sister Aundrea. She became the next Eastqueen of Ivoria.
