Alket

Alket is the capital of Kosjal, one of the kingdoms of Vagalkan in northern Túlmikkía, specifically in the northwestern part of Vagalkan.

Demographics

Most of the inhabitants are native Galkans, along with small communities of Namki from the south, Orrólans from the west and Ænateans from the east, each of which specializes in certain trade; the namki hunt certain animals out on the savanna and the orrólans grow dates, for example.

Defences

Alket is defended by low but thick mud-brick walls and imposing gates on three sides, each painted in distinctive colour; the eastern gate to the docks is orange, the northern gate is blue and the southern one red.

Infrastructure

The main landmarks in the city are the royal palace and especially the Temple of Et-eisjavahe-hetú, patron god of Alket and Kosjal in general, both of which are built atop trapezoid mounds which are visible from a great distance within the kingdom.

Architecture

Alket's architecture is similar to that of most galkan settlements, with most buildings constructed out of wood and clay, with thatched roofs.

The city is located at the west bank of the lower Ap River.
