Jygnún

Afnat: Jygnún /jyknuːn/
Anþóic: Gejak /kɛːjakh/
Ekic: Tóxpe /thouːksphɛː/
The Jygnún River is the second longest river in Þonnanó in southern Emlas, and is traditionally considered by the Paróbaxi to mark the boundaries between Þonnanó proper to the south and the mixed woodlands that transition into the redwoods of Fjimrú Forest to the north. Most of the inhabitants are various tribes of Þnúnóans, most notably Anþóans, or relatives of the Þonnani to the east.

Geography

Jygnún originates in the western Narannax Mountains, whence it flows in a general southwestern direction until curving westwards about two-thirds of the way, then splits into the rivers Glon and Aþnek before draining into the Senfó Sea via Naxanp Gulf.
A number of settlements dot the river, the largest of which are those of the anþóans by the coast, which have long served as trading posts for paróbaxi merchants across the Naxanp Gulf to the northwest on one hand, and Vósali from the south on the other.

Ecosystem

The river is home to a diverse wildlife, most notably giant otters, crocodiles, piranhas, catfish, cranes, storks and, in the delta regions, sea lions.
