The Burnpile

The Burnpile is an island in the far southwest corner of Kalope in the Drembari Isles. The island still smolders from a volcanic eruption that predates recorded history. There have been repeated attempts to create permanent settlements on the island, but all have failed. There are some, however, who call The Burnpile home. The monks of the Drybeak Monastery call this island Mount Shellsmoke and revere it as the site of Sanska's enlightenment. They act as stewards of the island, operating from their hidden monastery carved into the lava rock of the cliffs themselves.
