Novari

Novari are an ethnic group of people mostly residing in the Imperial Federation of Novaris. It is an ethnicity diverged from the Eldonians. Commonly spoken languages by people of this ethnicity are Eldonish and Estrelonish, though only the first is recognized as an official language.
  Many Novari that were at some stage of their lives oppressed by the dictators regime, have developed a fear of The Novari Guard.

Ethnic Abilities - Novari

When designing a character, a player chooses positive and negative ethnic abilities of equal value. Custom suggestions are possible upon approval by the GM. Mixed ethnicity abilities can be custom designed as well.
 
Since all characters are human, you are always Adaptable: Humans begin play with any Novice Edge of their choosing. They must meer its Requirements as usual.
 
Typical Novari characteristics are:
Strong (2): Novari, like their Eldonian forefathers, generally have a set of broad and strong shoulders on them. They start with a d6 Strength instead of a d4. This increases maximum Strength to d12+1.
Tough (1): Novari are a tough breed used to harsh treatment and environments. Toughness is increased by +1.
Sunbather (1): Unlike their forefathers from Eldonia, the Novari have come to enjoy and appreciate the hot, sunny days. You receive a +4 bonus to resist the negative effects of heat. Damage from heat sources is also reduced by 4.
Educated (1): Though an educated civilization is not always the most obedient, the Novari government does value for every person to receive an education. One specialization of the Academics trait starts at d4.
Racial Enemy (-1): From the settlement of the West Coast until today, the Novari saw conflict with local natives. Many have lost family or property at the hands of savage natives. Others have suffered their raids themselves. The Winoni are your Racial Enemy. You subtract 2 from Persuasion when dealing with them and may become hostile with little provocation.
Ranged Warriors (-1): With firearms being the new standard in combat, Novari no longer learn to dodge a fist, sword or club. You suffer a -1 to your Parry.
Moon Guard Phobia (-1): The Novari Moon Guard is an elite cavalry unit, claimed to adopt cruel and torturous practices to achieve their goals. Novari people fear them because of it. You gain the Phobia (minor) Hindrance and subtract 1 from all trait rolls in the presence of this phobia.
Failed Diplomacy (-1): Being oppressed and intimidated regularly, Novari lost faith in diplomacy as a means to persuade another. Persuasion is no longer a core skill and does not start at a d4.
