Varaso Empire

The Varaso Empire (Varaso: Imperio Varaso, Vallaran: Imperium Vārāsum, Imperium Vārāsis) was a medieval state in Eussis and at times in eastern Sossis.   While the Varaso Empire was politically a continuation of the Varaso Kingdom, it is generally recognised that the political entity of Varas called the Varaso Kingdom was fundamentally different from the Varaso Empire. In the time of the kingdom, Varaso society was heavily centred around Varas and the descendants of its original inhabitants, and regions outside were entirely subordinate, mostly used for tribute and levies. During the empire, though, Varaso identity was spread throughout the empire's territory to regions that had not been traditional Vallaran lands and to people that were not Vallaran. Generally, the rule of Aleixo is used to delineate the two, as his conquests and governmental reforms laid the groundwork for the transition to empire.
