Wilds of Neshtu
The Wilds of Neshtu is a stretch of brush — comprised of scraggly trees and scrubland — in the east of Gol-Kasha. The region is bordered to the north by the Luskat Steppe, the south by the Plains of Pesht, the south-west by the Githind Swamp, and the west by the Juterii Ranges. The wilds span both banks of the Varsa River, and also include its main tributary, the Olb River.
Geography
The brush sits on a relatively verdant stretch of plains, cutting through the foothills of the Juterii Ranges, from where the Varsa and Olb deposit minerals. This makes the wilds a particularly difficult region to navigate, but also an excellent location for wildlife to flourish.
History
The Wilds of Neshtu — and the region that would become Gol-Kasha — came to the notice of the Vekhen Empire when an Ihmisii explorer known as Neshtu discovered the veins of ore which would later feed Felmithril Mine. From this mine, Felmithril was transported down the Varsa and sold to the Empire as a magical fuel source. This source of power eventually led to the Empire taking greater notice of the region, and sending in migrations of people who would later become the Aomeni.
