Before mankind graced the world, giants lived free and roamed in sprawling, underground cities. Before the conflict of the Ten Thousand Year War, giantkind was solely focused on methods of creation, rather than destruction.

History

The saga of giantkind began in the dawn of the world. Tabaxi had yet to step foot on the shattered lands when the thunder of the giants' steps shook the world to its bones. Even the dragons were unaware of the power and glory their enemies would attain. The records of the early age of giants has long since vanished into the mists of legend, their history and true nature can only be estimated from what is told in the Tabaxian Records.

It is believed that giants may have existed even before Primordial Dragons due to their development of primitive milestones of civilization such as early language in the form of pictographs, communal living spaces, and various forms of artistry.

While much is unknown about how the giants lived prior to the Ten Thousand Year War, what is known is that the giants lived peaceful lives amongst each other in the vast subterranean spaces beneath the first continent. Due to the separation of the solitary landmass, any hopes to rediscover any intact evidence of giantkind has been lost. From the pieces that remain, we can conclude that giants held an artistic intelligence that may be unmatched, even to this day. It would appear that even their social hierarchy incorporated their skills as craftsmen, those with more authority being the most skilled among their peers.

Biology

Some skeletal remains of giants have been discovered scattered throughout Goia, giving scholars some inclination in just how large these creatures must have been. While finding complete and intact specimens is exceedingly rare, from what has been found we can infer that these beings stood at over 30 meters in height, or roughly 17 times the average height of current humans. While the bones found would suggest a similar anatomy between man and giant, there are several unique differences in their structure.

One such difference is a curved spinal column, suggesting that over a vast period of time, giants developed an exaggerated hunched back, perhaps to better navigate the subterranean environment. Widely-splayed feet support the idea of giant's evolution centered around maneuverability in rough and shifting terrain. Unfortunately, these are the only anatomical details that scholars have managed to agree on, given the current specimens that have been discovered.
