25 Desnus
Final Fight
The fight rages on....
Fletch attacks
Aedwed with his dagger but the attack goes wide and misses.
Rib-bon continues to use Call Lightning, calling a bolt on
Mirage. He dodges to the side getting only partially singed by the bolt.
Ralphye continues to bleed as he steps away from the guard in front of him. With the distance he shoots an unpoisoned arrow at the guard which hits it's mark in his chest. The guard is knocked unconcious as he falls to the floor. Seeing his foe fall, he takes out a potion.
Aedwed takes a step to attack again but falls unconscious from the continued burning,
Rumro drinks her potion of Invisibility disappearing from view.
Mirage drinks a vial and also disappears from view along with his other image.
Siga takes another shot with her Heavy Crossbow at Manos but the bolt misses hitting the wall instead.
Valkyriy takes out a wand and casts
Uncontrolled Speed at Manos. The magic overcomes him and takes effect.
The guards continue closing in on the doppelgangers to help the party. One throws a javelin at Manos hitting him as it cuts into his left arm.
Adrian moves behind the archway to start moving towards
Mirage and
Ralphye's positions.
Manos kicks his horse into a charge at the two guards in front of him. The
Uncontrolled Speed spell takes effect and causes Manos to blur in motion faster than his horse. He lands prone behind the guards and beside
Rib-bon. The horse attacks one of the guards biting into his right shoulder. Manos moves to stand up leaving him open to attack from one of the guards. They swing their Guisarme at him but misses.
Fletch uses his Shadow Shroud to hide in plain sight as he moves to follow
Adrian.
Rib-bon moves away from Manos taking an attack from his lance as it cuts into her leg. She jumps onto the meeting table and uses Channel Energy to heal her nearby allies.
Ralphye drinks his potion and some of his wounds heal up.
Rumro Agddal reappears on the table taking a shot with her hand crossbow at Manos. Her sneak attack fails as she misses.
Adrian hears movement nearby as the wall behind the archway opens up revealing it connects to a sewer room the party passed through earlier.
Siga shoots another bolt at Manos hitting a glacing blow on his left side.
Valkyriy casts a Shadow Trap at
Ralphye but he resists it's pull. Seeing it fail she quickly uses her bow in a blur of motion to take a shot hitting
Ralphye in a heroic feat. The arrow catches him in the back.
The guards again move in. A couple attack Manos with their Guisarmes, he gets hit by both slashes on opposite sides with deep cuts. Another attacks
Ralphye with his Guisarme but misses.
Adrian shouts at
Ralphye letting him know he's going to cause his entire species go extinct at this rate. This Antagonizes him as his resolve wavers.
Adrian then swings with his Morningstar dealing a critical blow as it full on hits the middle of his chest.
Manos attacks
Rib-bon again with his lance cutting into her leg. His horse continues to attack the guard in front of it with hooves and a bite but fails to land any.
Fletch moves into the revealed room and deploys an Instant Bridge on its side in attempt to slow any passage in. It expands across the entire length of the doorway but only goes three feet up.
Rib-bon uses Call lightning again on Manos as the bolt hits dead center.
Ralphye bleeds causing it to revert to it's base form as it sheds it's skin. The doppelganger decides to run into the room while dextrously avoiding any attacks. It spots
Fletch and attacks with a claw raking his left arm.
Rumro takes another shot at Manos hitting this time but for minor damage.
Mirage moves into the room avoiding attacks before using his wand to heal some of his wounds.
Siga fires her crossbow at Manos hitting him through the back. This causes Manos to shed his skin and reveals his doppelganger form.
Valkyriy shouts ahead into the room that the party only wants
Mirage, everyone else can live if they surrender.
Fletch would see this causes
Ralphye to waver more but a look from
Mirage keeps him in line.
Valkyriy moves to help the group fighting Manos and shoots an arrow into his chest.
Guards move in on their targets. Some moving towards Manos, others into the room with
Mirage. Two hits with Guisarmes on Manos as the guards slash at him again.
Adrian moves into the revealed room to help fight
Mirage. He takes a defensive stance near
Fletch. He calls out that this is
Ralphye's last chance to surrender. Seeing that he and
Mirage are surrounded he drops his guard and gives up.
Fletch uses Shadow Shroud to again disappear and moves to flank
Mirage. He swipes with both daggers hitting a critical spot in the back of his leg hampering
Mirage's movements.
Rib-bon uses Call Lightning one last time on Manos. He dives to the left as the bolt strikes down but for naught as even the glancing blow is enough to finish him off. He falls unconscious.
Mirage surrounded decides to make his way out of this position and further into the room. He yells at
Ralphye that if that's his decision he can die with the rest of them. He tosses a Thunderstone at the group.
Adrian attempts to deflect in a heroic feat but fails to make it in time. The stone explodes out in a cacophony of sound deafening the guards and
Ralphye.
Siga yells for the nearby guards to join the others before unceremoniously placing a bolt between Mano's unconscious form's eyes.
Valkyriy moves into the room with the others after dashing over.
The guards move in to join the others in the room. One attacks
Mirage with a Longsword but misses.
Adrian attacks
Mirage but hits an image of him instead.
Fletch shoots a bolt at
Mirage but misses.
Rib-bon moves with the guards and does another Channel Energy near the downed guard. He becomes conscious again.
Ralphye attacks
Mirage with his claws but misses.
Rumro jumps into the room to join the battle.
Mirage tosses a Tanglefoot bag at
Fletch glueing him in place.
Siga runs to catch up with everyone and decides to run through the spilt coals on the ground. She catches fire one going through.
Valkyriy fires at
Ralphye (not being aware he surrendered) hitting him with an arrow in the thigh.
All the guards make it into the room except for the injured one who decides to sit out the rest of the battle. One of the newly arrived guards also attacks
Ralphye hitting him with a slash of his guisarme. Another guard attempts to trip
Mirage with the guisarme but misses.
Adrian swings at
Mirage with his Morningstar but misses.
Fletch yells that
Ralphye is now on their side, don't attack him. While scraping at the glue with his dagger.
Rib-bon makes it into the room with now and uses her last use of Call Lightning on
Mirage. He manages to avoid being hit with the full brunt of the bolt but is still shocked by it.
Ralphye continues swiping at
Mirage with his claws hitting with one.
Rumro drops her crossbow and draws her short sword to help
Fletch get out of the glue.
Mirage tosses a bomb directly at
Ralphye in front of him. The bomb explodes knocking
Ralphye unconscious while the explosion damages and burns some guards,
Adrian, and
Mirage.
Siga still on fire runs out of the coals. She then drops to the ground to put out the fire but fails.
Valkyriy starts her Flame Dancing Bardic Performance which helps
Siga put the flames out.
Guards continue attacking
Mirage with three landing hits in a flurry of blades.
Mirage then sheds his skin becoming his doppelganger form and held onto a bag of his.
Adrian attempts to knock
Mirage's
Fletch takes out a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds and drinks it.
Rib-bon uses Channel Energy to heal almost everyone in the room minus
Mirage.
Ralphye attempts to get up but
Mirage slashes him causing him to be heavily injured again.
Mirage then claws at at nearby guard dealing two heavy blows.
Rumro continues to help
Fletch get out of the glue.
The guards continue hitting at
Mirage with all four getting hits in.
Adrian hits
Mirage with his Morningstar.
Fletch is finally free of the glue moves in to sneak attack
Mirage in a flanking maneuver. But his daggers don't hit their mark.
Rib-bon uses Burning Gaze but
Mirage resists it.
Ralphye attempts to slash
Mirage scraping his chest but falls unconscious in the process.
Mirage dives for his bag with everyone nearby takes swipes at him as he does so. Unfortunately none hit as he bites into a glass vial. His skin bursts open as he grows into a hulking mass of muscles. He then pummels a guard into the ground with both hands killing him instantly.
Rumro attacks the hulking creature with her sword but doesn't get enough power into the hit to pierce his flesh.
Siga shoots another bolt which hits as it sinks into the creature's arm.
Valkyriy takes out a wand of Slow and casts it on the creature but it resists.
The remaining guards back up and attack with their guisarmes. Only one hits as it slashes the creature's torso.
Adrian stands defensively near
Fletch before swinging with his Morningstar and missing.
Fletch jumps and slashes the creature across the face in a sneak attack that bewilders it. In a heroic act, he attacks again landing another decisive blow that disorients it.
Rib-bon casts Blindness at the creature who is unable to resist going blind. It also continues to resist her Burning Gaze.
The creature slams out at
Fletch but only lands one hit clawing his whole left side.
Rumro stabs at the creature with her sword landing a sneak attack in it's left side.
Siga lets another bolt loose hitting the creature's chest.
Valkyriy attempts to use Slow again but the creature is still shaking it off.
The guards continue their onslaught of slashes as three more cuts appear on the creature.
Adrian takes out a Cure Moderate Wounds potion and drinks it to heal some wounds.
Fletch hits with another dagger sneak attack knocking the hulk down. Then running up and cut it's head off to finish it.
With the creature down,
Rib-bon takes this time to cast another channel and heal the group up. That's when
Adrian and
Valkyriy noticed that the creature's flesh was knitting itself back together.
Valkyriy moves to place the last bomb they have into the creature's stomach. Before she can finish it wakes up. It slashes out at her scratching her side.
She leaves and lights the bomb with a Spark. It explodes blowing the creature's chest open but it stays up.
Siga, the guards, and the rest of the party attacked the creature causing it to be knocked unconscious again. They continued to keep hacking at it. During which it's flesh appeared to deteriorate and fall off. It eventually became an unmoving skeleton as the group stood victorious over it....
