The Leoris Clan

Structure

The Leoris Clan like the other clans and tribes of Tidemane elect a speaker that holds the highest rank or title within the clan or tribe that makes the deciding vote on tribe and clan decisions and is the one who travels to meetings with the Grey Fang. Below the elder speaker is the clan's hunters, as the provider of food and materials and are valued highly by the clan. Below the hunters are the general caregivers (the mothers, homebodies, healers), Seen as those that heal and continue the life of the clan those who provide comfort and healing are next highest in the Leoris Clan. Lastly are the clan's warriors, while the lowest in the clan hierarchy this is due to the Leoris clan viewing warriors as the last resort of the clan only needed in the event that war has come to the clan.

Culture

The Leoris clan prides itself on feats of athletic strength and instead of duels like other tribes of Tidemane the Leoris clan has annual competitions surrounding athletic challenges like races. As a clan, they value speed above all else and aim to fight and win in fast and honorable fights. The clansmen of Leoris are easily recognized for their fighters forsaking armor or heavy weapons to avoid slowing themselves down.

History

Said to be once two clans, the Lion Clan and the Tiger Clan, the Leoris Clan joined together sometime in the past from the clansmen of the two past clans combining many of the viewpoints and culture of the clans. The Leoris Clan has in the past produced four Grey Fangs in the past years and since has taken a step back from the leader duels deciding to focus on clan growth.

Demography and Population

Due to the culture and heritage of the Leoris Clan surrounding the strength of the lions and the speed of the tiger many tabaxi and leonin felt comfort in the clan with few remaining within the villages of the clan as they felt they could be accepted by the people of the Leoris.
