Edrys family

The Edryses are the rulers of Firen-Lic, but have ruled the Fireni for millennia through dark times and good times. They were once priest-masters to cthonic gods, but have since dedicated their lives and struggles to defeating the abyssal influences. Currently led by Lady Alvana Edrys, they are locked in struggle with the cults of the Lady of Sin.

History

Slavery
During the height of the High Elven Empire, thousands of high elves were taken by the magelords to serve as chattel slaves in mines deep below the earth, giving up their lives and labour to serve the glory of the magi. These pathetic beings, barely worthy of the name of high elf, lived the entirety of their pathetic lives far removed from the sun, with most of them never being above-ground for for more than the first few years of their life.
Was it so strange then, that when the primogenitor of the Edryses found the pool of darkness hidden away deep below the earth, that they drank greedily of its power? Graz'zt and other daemon lords revealed themselves to the first Edryses, showing them the gifts darkness could give them. And so a bargain was struck, forever linking the Edryses to Graz'zt and his siblings. The Edryses and their people would give sacrifice to the gods, and in return they would bless them so they could live happy and worthy lives.
The First Sins
The first edryses began spreading their words through the slaves, and soon their new religion promising peace in the darkness spread like wildfire. They built great underground temples and twisted fanes to their dark lords, finding more and more divine promises in the pool of darkness. The magelords allowed them to have their practices, as it made them even more efficient in their work. These early edryses were priest-kings, lording over their subjects and paying tribute to their dark lords with sacrifice of souls, lives and blood. They were given a sword by Graz'zt, carved from the very stuff of darkness, which marked their leader as chosen by the gods of the underworld. This would not last forever however.
Exile
When the High Elven Civil Wars began, brutal conflicts of religion following the ascension of the Tyrant to godhood, the edryses and their people were nearly put to the sword to a man by the Knights of Corellon. A few survivors managed to escape to the surface, led by the edryses. The Knights of Correlon branded these "fineri", high elven for sinners, and exiled them from the empire. The fireni, a name they accepted, kept their religion to themselves while travelling southwards, seeking refuge in different city-states. Wherever they came they were soon forced away, as they carried with them the burden of darkness. The edryses led them further and further south, eventually leading them to Toirecíud, the southernmost elven colony. There they were given a barren island, in return for all the gold and jewels they carried.
When they came to the island, the leader of the fireni, king Trasalor Edrys, took out the sword his ancestors had been given by Graz'zt, the anathame, and carved a wound in reality. From this wound, life and vibrance bled into the island, marking it forever for the god of pleasure and claiming its people as his.
Firen-lic
On the island, which the fireni named Firen-lic, the edryses were allowed to continue their ritual rule with even greater excess. Bloodsport, sexual escapades, provocative art, nothing was off limits to the people of the island of sin. They also began worshipping the other gods, with different branches of the edryses worshipping Orcus, Zuggtmoy and Yeenoghu. The edryses began carving deep mines into the island, drilling into it like maggots into dead flesh. They made catacombs and tombs for their ancestors, as well as profane temples and chapels of darkness for summoning their cruel angels. They also found magical crystals deep below the ground, similar to that which made the anathame, allowing them to create powerful ritual knives and stones for summoning creatures from beyond.
Harimaer Edrys
This situation slowly became untenable however. The edryses were driving the fireni into the ground, using their flesh for rituals and blood to summon forbidden pleasures that eternally escalated. Their entire people would be eradicated in a slow, drug-infused death. One of the Edryses,a
