Theodor Ari
Duke Theodor Ari, known to imperial citizens as the Hunter Prince, is the duke of the Duchy of the Wetlands, and one of the most distinguished imperial military commanders of the last twenty years. As founder and commander of the Hunter Corps, duke Theodor has led several succesful campaigns against Yuan-Ti in the southern continent of Oilean.
While the duke is today a famous and respected warrior, his career began in infamy during the Wildwalker Uprising, where the Gold Empire nearly lost the Duchy of East Sceya due to him being outplayed time and time again by Deidre. He has always looked for a chance to take his vengeance on Deidre and prove himself as the hero of the next generation of Sceyans.

Death of Innocence
Duke Theodor was a ward of Duke Andreas Ari in the Duchy of East Sceya, and was left in charge of his mentor's forces when he travelled to Akshus to aid in its conquest.
Duke Theodor was thus a young man in his early twenties when the Damatír attacked. While the duke had learned every imperial stratagem, was an accomplished dragonrider and had commanded his newly formed Hunter Corps in skirmishes against zealot wildriders, he was not ready for the full scale of assault the Wildwalkers would put him under.
He was forced further and further north, and he lost many friends while trying to counter and outmaneuver the Robber Prince's forces, and failing.
His failures to hold East Sceya, and the deaths he was responsible for, tarnished his early career and followed him like a black shroud.
The Hunter Corp's Success
A lesser man would have been cowed by these failures, but Theodor was unbroken. He took his hunters, now veterans of the brutal fighting in the Greatwilds, back west to the Wetlands, and subjected them to gruelling training. After nearly two years of preparation, the Hunter Prince and his elite Hunter Corps joined the Imperial Army and travelled to Oilean.
In Oilean, duke Theodor found that his lessons learned during the Wildwalker Uprising came to good use fighting the Yuan-Ti in their godless jungels. He earned a reputation as an effective, heroic and at times brutal leader of men.
Ambitions for the Throne
Theodor travelled on many tours of duty to Oilean, serving the Gold Empire and his Emperor. Sceya has produced at least one great hero each generation, first Hans "the Great", then Andreas "the Handsome", and today folks are praising Theodor "the Hunter" as a great imperial war-hero.
Theodor has thrown himself and his corps into war after war, conquest after conquest. Few nobles riding a young dragon can claim the number of conquests that he can, and in his last tour he has commanded combined forces of Hunters, Sceyan Royal Army, noble auxilia and Holy Legions, seemingly a test from the Gold Emperor of his ability to command such authority.
It is clear that Theodor wants to be king of Sceya, to finally rid the stain of East Sceya from his honor.
