The Seven Baronies

The Seven Baronies are a group of feudal colonies, each with a Lord that rules over them alongside their noble house. Each Lord also has a small number of villages and towns that belong to their barony, as well as bannermen from each.   The Baronies are as follows:     Yulefrost   House of the Owl   The castle-town of Yulefrost is watched over by Lord and Lady Hawthorne. The Hawthorne family can be recognized by their pale white or grey hair, present even at young ages. The Hawthorne house is filled with odd folk, often bearing spellcasting powers and an interest in the arcane. As such, the snowy city of Yulefrost also holds a sprawling library & mage’s college where scholars research ancient arts. Lord Hawthorne also keeps watch over the village of Whitecliff.         Rainbridge   House of the Heron   Along the western coast of Auld Bastila sits the barony of Rainbridge, ruled over by the Mantle Family. Named for its frequent rainstorms, Rainbridge is often viewed by outsiders as a gloomy place. But the rains also bring with them lush farmlands, allowing the people of Rainbridge to eat well. The Mantles of Rainbridge watch over the villages of Darcy and Summertide as well.       Marinhal   House of the Marlin   The coastal city of Marinhal is a bustling trade port and fishing powerhouse. The population tend to be Nyan'hari in origin much like the House of Mariesoix, the rulers of Marinhal. The sigil of House Mariesoix is that of the marlin, a perpetual reminder of the prosperity the ocean brings. Lady Mariesoix also watches over the villages of Falcon Rock and Whaler's Rest.       Lasthaven   House of the Bear   The Ralleys of Lasthaven have dark chestnut hair, sometimes accented with rich reds. Lasthaven is a rustic frontier castle, and the Ralleys match that. They are hunters, warriors, and ferocious folk, but raucous and merry during their many glorious feasts. Lord Ralley also watches over the village of Ostegrave.       Earthenvault   House of the Salamander   Earthenvault is under watch of the Strongpike Dwarven Clan. As a forge-city, Earthenvault is buried deep into a mountain in the Midnight Veil. The population of Earthenvault is almost exclusively dwarves, though other races can be spotted on occasion. Lord Strongpike also watches over several smaller dwarven villages buried deep in the mountains near Earthenvault.       Holyanne   House of the Hippogriff   Holyanne is a bustling city located in the lowlands at the center of the Seven Baronies. The city boasts massive cathedrals and churches, and is considered the “Holy City” of Auld Bastila. Holyanne is ruled by the Bellanor family, a noble elven bloodline. The Bellanors also keep watch of the town of Merythyst at the base of the Painted Mountains.       Redspire   House of the Capra   Built at the base of the Painted Mountains, Redspire is the home of the Valgrey family. The Valgrey’s are tieflings, and can be recognized by their curled horns and red or purple skin. The Valgrey family also watch over the town of Greyport and the village of Daybreak.
