"I am a scientist, Rei. There is no "should", there is only "is" and "will".Czeska is a doctor and a Dhamphir- offspring of a mortal human and a Vampire. She's responsible for resurrecting the player character, Rei, and provides medical support to both you, and the rest of the Long Faire Night. Born into an ostensible "circus dynasty", she was still raised outside of it, by her mother and only occasional visits from her Circus-dwelling Vampire father. Around age 6, her mother sent her to a local doctor to treat her Cambionisis , which later matured into an apprenticeship after Czeska showed a knack for the trade. After she'd reached the age of majority, her absentee father came to her with a job offer: work the medical tent at the circus. Czeska, fascinated by the study of aberrant physiology, took the job, and she's stuck around for nearly a decade. Czeska's a hard empiricist. Anything that exists can be explained, and that includes even matters of the soul, something essential to have hard data about if you're treating or creating the Undead, which Czeska's obviously got no qualms about doing, and she holds a peculiar fondness for her creations. She has a hard, if twisted, framework to her actions, and there are even lines she won't cross. She is a doctor, after all. Undead require a powerful and abiding will to live at the time of death, so Czeska considers it just an extension of her obligation as a doctor to preserve life, and having lived with many of the same burdens that the Undead have to suffer, she feels that any undead can eventually come to terms with their state of being, and she does offer a great deal of frosty and clinical support, but really, the whole operation hinges on her intern, Kaskamin Yllia, whose psychic gifts allow her to mine the undead for information, and address difficulties in communicating with the shattered psyche of the recently resurrected.
