This is the starting year to the modern calender that labels all additional years as "Common Years" or CY for short. The Common Year was established as the system of reckoning by Grand Prince Nasran I of the Great Kingdom of Aerdy in 645 OR (1 CY), when he declared universal peace throughout his land and took the title of Overking. While the universal peace did not withstand, the new calendar was adopted by most of Greyhawk.

Hold of the Sea Princes is Established
FoundingThis is the year that the Hold of the Sea Princes was established by a loose coalition of pirates led by Hammandaturian. This establishment was not taken kindly by the Keoland Kingdom.

Battle of Hool Marsh
Military actionThis battle was the first major battle between the Hold of the Sea Princes and the Kingdom of Keoland. Here, the battle was fought in the Hool Marshes to the west of Guilrock Bay. The Sea Princes had a decisive victory where they killed King Tavish III and took his family sword Vilharian as a trophy.

Battle of Jetsom Island
Military actionThis was the end of the conflict between Keoland and the Hold of the Sea Princes. The Sea Princes, while not outright losing this battle, were bested and pushed back to their capital of Monmurg. It is said that Vilharian is still here on Jetsom Island to this day.

Pirate attack in Saltmarsh
Criminal ActivityWhile this seems to be a small event, this may grow to have larger repercussions for the Viscounty of Salinmoor, if not for the whole of Keoland itself. This is the first time in many years that the Hold of the Sea Princes has directly attacked a Keoish city. Though it seemed to be directed at one city councilmember, the consequences may be more vast than what is initially perceived.
