Session 24: Goodwill Hunting Report

General Summary

Searching through the fortress, the LoO encounter bone devils and an ice devil. Rowdy and WD quickly assault the bone devils, slaying one quickly. The ice devil pulled up a wall of ice to hinder the rest of the party so it could close with the two paladins. Spile and Jhoren make easy work of the wall after several rounds, but not before the wall froze some of the party and the ice devil nearly killed Rowdy. A few moments later Jhoren and the paladins finish the devils. A weaker bearded devil tried to snipe Rowdy from the cover of squat crates, but Spile and Jhoren kill him with ranged spell attacks. They find a mechanism to control the elevator after killing the bearded devil. Their victory is rudely interrupted by two Malephants. They storm the room and trample Rowdy, then spits a corrupt acid at Maya and a shape shifted Rocky Spile. Spile takes a direct hit, is injured, and forgets the last 24 hrs of his life. They take the lift below and Thrasymachus declares his intent to challenge Geryon, the deposed arch duke of Stygia. WD and Maya pledge their arms to help him, so the rest of the party acquiesced and joins them. The solar calls out Geryon and announces his sentence of death for his crimes against the elven people and the betrayal against the Nameless One, the deity who created the first two gods, Corellon and Grumsh. The party follow Thrasymachus into mortal combat against the arch devil. The wrath of the party was evident, as Geryon fell in 3 rounds to the arrow of slaying from the solar's great Bow of Vengeance. After Thrasymachus watches in satisfaction the dissipation of the body and soul of Geryon, he tells WD his mission is over, but WD must remain determined in his mission to find the Chapel of St Cuthbert and retrieve the sword of Kaz. “Before I must leave to lead astray the forces Asmodeus is now sending to find me, take rest, you have earned it”. Once again time slows. You may now level up and take a long rest. “It has not gone unnoticed, the destruction of two arch devils, I will do what I can to shield your identities, even you Johren.” In a flash he is gone.
