Moyi Wekk

The Moyi Wekk is a small kingdom located on the northern coast of Atux, bordering the Nìsso Yunri and the much larger Sìkk Yunri. The Moyi Wekk is the only Komtol kingdom in Atux, with the majority of kingdoms in the continent being either Naadi or Utor in culture. The Moyi Wekk is a relatively young country, having only been formed a little over a century ago due to a rebellion by Komtol peoples in the lands of the Sìkk Yunri. Wanting self-determination and autonomy, Komtol peoples within the Sìkk Yunri began to protest and riot, with these civil demonstrations eventually transforming into an all-out civil war as mercenary groups began to get involved and the Nìsso Yunri began to send aid to the Komtol revolution, being fellow enemies of the Sìkk Yunri. The Moyi Wekk is an incredibly small kingdom and is the least populous and smallest kingdom in not only Atux, but also throughout the entirety of Halth'aire.   The Moyi Wekk is ruled by a single monarch, a Wekkar, meaning "king" in the ancient Komtol tongue. The current Wekkar, Juxis Abar Gaya, is an unremarkable ruler, having continued to consolidate the Moyi Wekk's place as a member of the geopolitical sphere of northern Atux through a defensive alliance with the Nìsso Yunri and trade deals with the Yika Amku. Overall, economic development has remained largely stagnant in the Moyi Wekk. The kingdom's reliance on maritime trading ports has proved troublesome due to piracy along Atux' northern coast, a problem the small kingdom is not properly equipped to handle or deter. This has led many Moyi trade routes to be targets of raids and smuggling has run rampant in the few ports of the Moyi Wekk. Thus, the primary elements of the Moyi economy have remained embedded in a simple and traditional agricultural economy with some focus on the extraction of rare metals and magical ores.   The population of the Moyi Wekk is largely concentrated on the eastern coast of the kingdom, focused in a few port towns and dockyards. There is a sizeable rural population that is spread throughout the remainder of the kingdom, providing food and simple goods to the urban population. The capital, Jjoras, is still only considered a small town, having a population of just under five thousand people. Culturally, the people of the Moyi Wekk are largely Komtol, though many Hazcuo peoples also inhabit regions throughout the north of Atux, including the Moyi Wekk. The Moyi people are known for their surrealistic art and their strange and eye-catching hairstyles. The local dialect of Dodeshi used by the Komtol of the Moyi Wekk incorporates many ancient phrases and dialects. Their architectural style tends to involve many taller buildings, with towers spread all throughout their towns and even being present in small villages.
