Rodric Nist
Rodric Nist is the young, headstrong king of the Kingdom of Talrice. Having inherited power after his father's untimely death, the young king immediately took to punishing those responsible for the old king's death, abolishing the Volaire Aterus. The Volaire Aterus were a long-standing organization of Ryhai Sy'n mages that often acted as aids or advisors to the king. One of these Ryhai Sy'n caused the death of Cerulean Nist, Rodric's father, though the details are unknown as to how. Nevertheless, Rodric abolished the organization, executed its leaders, and forced the rest into exile.
Actions speak louder than words, a truth that has led to Rodric's popularity among the people of Talrice. Although he is often described as cold, stubborn, and uncharismatic, his powerful and impressive rule over the kingdom, especially at his young age, has led to many considering him a great leader. Despite his early, rage-filled political actions, much of what he has done as king has been just in the eyes of the people, maintaining the more liberal societal and economic structure of Talrice while subsequently increasing the country's strength militarily. He is an intelligent and wise man, but his cold and stoic expression and personality hide much of that from the public. This image is also aided by the extravagant armor he wears whenever out in public.
Rodric is young, only 19 years old, and is abnormally tall, reaching over six feet and eight inches. He has a cold, hateful expression and speaks in a largely monotone voice, seemingly constantly upset or aggravated, though that is rarely the case. He is generally cold and untrusting, though he is faithfully loyal to the few advisors he trusts, and expects the same in return. While he is a just ruler, slights done directly to him or his remaining family are punished heavily, a result of his father's tragic demise.
