The White Blades
The White Blades are a merchant and mercenary guild that operate within the southern provinces of Auchnavar. They are a highly influential body within the Auchnavaran government, with many members of the White Blades also being members of the delegate-based council in Auchnavar. They first gained prominence after a civil war in Auchnavar hundreds of years ago, during which they were hired to aid Auchnavaran forces in putting down the armies of dissenting clans. Since then, they have remained close allies of the High King and the Auchnavaran Council largely due to the strength of their mercenary company and the economic viability of the various trade organizations within the guild. Auchnavar's government gives the guild political influence and aids it in research in exchange for cuts of the guild's profits and access to its mercenaries.

The guild has three main operations in Auchnavar: the White Blades run mercenary companies, trade organizations, and research groups in Auchnavar. Its mercenary companies are offered out for various services from acting as bodyguards to aiding in overseas raids. Trade companies run by the White Blades have relaxed quotas and regulations imposed on them in exchange for higher taxation from the government, and they often simply exist to facilitate trade with kingdoms in Londthas and Pwenlylyn. Research expeditions funded by the White Blades are conducted for a variety of purposes, but many stem from a desire to increase the guild's influence and profits. This is often through the discovery of rare materials, magical components, or hotspots of arcane energy.
