Growing up in Mirrak family Lazim understands better than most the hostility to being found amongst the sunborn, and the dangers of trusting. She grew up paranoid and isolated, for she had no brothers to rely on, being an only child and with no benefits to offer others she had to rely on herself, though one could say that it damaged her childhood, she has always held firm that it was this upbringing which has allowed her to foster one of the more successful Watch orders.
Lazim has served as Illustrious for over 15 years, joining when most of her house and close family died during the initial outbreak of the second war for the sacred flame, swearing vengeance for this affront she has since then aimed to ensure that Rashim remains stable, and that bloodshed among the Rashi remains to a minimum if that means a household ceasing to exist, then so be it.
