From riches to rags, Louis was born to Korvland nobility, but at his 12th birthday celebration it was discovered that he gained sorcerers abilities, something his family fiercly denied knowledge of and he was send to Holds to properly trained and Raziel willing even be able to return to society.
Louis is a keenly bitter man at times, especially after drinking, ever angry and sorrowful over having his lot in life stolen, he knows he was destined for greater things than any of his colleagues, a fact he will at times air. But Louis is a determined magician, and were it not for the particularly volatile powers he could easily have been granted greater freedoms, instead he is doomed to help his students reign in their powers and help them aspire to things that are impossible for himself.
Louis is a strict teacher, with high expectations of his students, he is an understanding tutor, for he knows their blight and tribulations, but he does not allow dawdling and is quick to punish those who do not live up to his expectations.
