Serpent Gods.
The Serpent gods are many, and are worshiped in many different ways by the Koanka, each tribe holding their rituals and giving greater worship to different Serpents. Their worship is ancient and by most outsiders seen as abominable demon worship, not believing these so called "Gods" to be more than malevolent spirits. But to the Koanka they are simply the gods, those which the priest call to for aid and protection, those that are sacrificed to, to preserve the world.
The worship of the Serpent gods is a very formal and impersonal to most, as contact with the gods is not safe thing for the average person, as such only priest have connection to gods, while the people bring there prayers and sacrifices to the priest who serves as in between connections to the gods.
Such gods are the:
The Blooming Serpent, Serpent of the lands, growth and healing.
The Candescent Serpent, prayed to for knowledge, Ideas and Thanks for his many gifts.
Mer-serpent, Serpent of rebirth, Fertility, Sea water and death. Prayed to for mercy, safe passage in the underworld, being born in a higher caste. Permission to fish and sail. She is also worshiped for quick/painless births and for conception.
The Timeless Serpent The Great protector and Benefactor, rarely worshipped, but always respected for his gift's, it is said that he brought the Koanka their law, society and order.
The Unshaped Serpent A mostly ceremonial god, who is sometimes invoked for guidance.
The Crimson Serpent Worshiped only during times of war.

Worship of these beings is not organized by a uniform entity, as such their worship is quite diverse among the tribes that venerate them.
Public Agenda
The Priest of the Serpent gods serve as the messengers of the gods. Their aim is to bring prosperity to the people, to ensure their safty and well being.
Assets
The Priest class is often rulers or atleast among the highest caste of the Kaunka, as such they hold great sway in society able to mobilize their peoples into action and wield the great miracles of the serpent gods.
