  The Great Houses are akin to the clans, lead by a single Autarch who has the support of the most families within his House. The Great Houses are rulling body of the Stygian Kingdom, their will and rule abselute in their domains, each entrusted to safe guard their realm and to dispatch aid to one another in times of need though such actions are ofcourse political favours or it truely speaks of dire times, for the Great Houses each believe themselves the true heirs to the great king Musaf, the founder of their Kingdom. And to an extend they each embody a different aspect of his will, and his ambition for his realm.
