The celestial gods are largely not involved with the day-to-day minutia of the cosmic order. To manage the multiverse, they created the demiurges as stellar divinities. These beings' purpose was to rule over their respective domains and assist in the creation of the material plane of Hillit. Each demiurge is represented by a star in the night sky and they exist in a constellation dedicated to their patron celestial divinity. Eventually, the demiurges started to grow in personality and ego. They ceased to be simply anthropomorphic personifications of a philosophical ideal and grew into learning, distinct beings. When their initial duty of shaping the world ended, they took on more responsibilities. Some tasks started to come into conflict with each other and, in turn, political tensions rose up amongst the demiurges. Currently, with the celestial gods not meddling as much as the demiurges, most mortals experience the machinations and schemes of demiurges than the prime gods themselves.
