High Armorer

The High Armorer is the head of the National Helmet. While there are seven vice generals who command all troops, from among themselves, they select a leader to represent the unit as a whole and act as a leader in case of inter-unit conflict. The name is derived from the theory that a military is the armor of the nation, with the National Helmet responsible for protecting the head of state and govenment officials. An armorer is responsible for keeping protective gear functional and as the High Armorer, the person holding the rank must do the same for the people who comprise the highest military force.    The current holder of the rank is the second to attain it and came into the position after the previous High Armorer retired due to old age.

Appointment

During the election of a new High Armorer, the remaining six vice-generals each submit their proposal for a new seventh to join them from among the ranks of the unit whose vice general has retired or died. Those within the unit also put forth a candidate. The final determination for who is selected is with the Luzhasvumekt, but it is common for a majority to have already been established before any formal promotion is given.    Once a new seventh is installed, the full group will vote which one of them will step forward as the new High Armorer. A simple majority is needed for one of the seven to assume the title and a person cannot vote for themselves. In the event that there is no majority, those with the most votes remain in the running and a vote is taken again. If a conflict arises, the Small Council will step in to appoint a new High Armorer.    While this process has yet to happen, it was laid out during the formation of the unit so any future issues may be avoided.
