History
A man named Azrael came to this small village as a cleric. He saw its location and new it could be more than it was. He began spreading the word of the God of the Dead although many people were put off by it at first. But Unlike the evil Gods of Death whose rule made the afterlife an uncertain and fearful thing, Azrael promoted that death was a natural part of life and should not be feared as long as it was understood. Azrael's words are posted in a plaque at the entrance of the village.
"Death is but part of life; fear it not, evade it not, and view it not as evil. To fear deathe delivers you into the hands of those who can bring death upon you. Die with dignity, neither raging nor seeking to embrace undeath. Do honor to the dead, for their strivigns in life brought Ikeshia to where it is now, and to forget them is to forget also where we are now- and why."
Once trust was established Azrael helped make the village into a growing, successful town. At the entrance of the Tranquil forest is Azrael's Retreat . It was found and created by Azrael la Mort as a place to go when he wanted to get away and pray. It is seen as a sort of peaceful vacation spot among clerics and monks alike. And has expanded from one house to several. You do not need to worship Inigo God of the Dead as Azrael did to go there.
