Great Gates

History

The Great Gates are a network of portals throughout the continent of Eagremond. They are used mainly for urgent communications between the countries, but sometimes used for transportation of individuals. The use of these portals is very strictly regulated by the Order of the Gatekeepers.   The first pair of these portals was made in Vaal Shaeras. One was left in the depths of the city and the other was moved to Eastvale later that year. Upon this move, the Order of the Gatekeepers was formed. Since then, gates have been added to Baywick, Dwarvenheim, King's Port, Orioth, Falconhelm, the Free City of Esteros, Calxadesh, Dunespire, Vaultreach, and Durdarahn for a total of twelve portals.   The only countries in Eagremond that are unreachable by these gates are Libertalia, Arania, and the Tabaxi Empire. Arania has tried to get a portal installed in Shademoor many times, but the Order of the Gatekeepers constantly denies them. Libertalia has also been unable to get approved, but they have stopped trying. As far as the Tabaxi Empire is concerned, Emperor Daragor Proudmane has refused to have one installed.
