Arania

Arania is a Kingdom to the northwest of Eagremond. During the Second Era, Arania was the home of the Evil Overlord. During the Third Era, it is under new management and trying to rebuild its reputation.

Demographics

The people of Arania typically speak Aranian and worship the Aranian Pantheon. They are mostly human and notable for their gaunt features and black hair.

Industry & Trade

Due to the curse on Arania, they have to import most of their food, which takes a huge financial toll on the kingdom.

History

During the First Era, Arania was a proud kingdom that took up most of the northwest of Eagremond. It was the birthplace of the Evil Overlord. After killing Good King Ulmond, the Evil Overlord took over Arania became his base of operations. In 273 2E, Auntie Gertrude Frogtooth stole Blackrazor from the Shadowfell and brought it through the crossing in the Fortress of Shadows. This brought a curse upon Arania. Some believe that the god of agriculture, Sylvanor sacrificed himself to keep the curse from spreading. In the Third Era after the Evil Overlord's defeat, the House of the Spider rebuilt Arania, attempting to cleanse their reputation. Elspeth Lockhart was married off to King Remus Talbot to build an alliance with Lonaria. In 54 3E, the King of Arania, King Ilya Lockhart was killed during Belladonna's Final Ball. His younger brother, Ivan was paralyzed from the waist down. Ivan ascended to the throne, with Qibynn becoming his Queen. After King Stark Jenkins of Eastvale took the throne, his good relationship with Queen Qibynn brought peace with Eastvale.
