Archdevils

The position of Archdevils in the hierarchy of Baator is clear: Archdevils are the most powerful and are, therefore, on top. The most powerful of the Archdevils are the Archdukes, also called the Lords of the Nine. Other Archdevils are dukes, ruling portions of a layer, generals, or bureaucrats of various sorts. While not listed here given his status as a Betrayer Deity, Asmodeus is also considered an Archdevil, specifically the Archdevil of the Ninth.
Baalzebul is the Lord of Maladomini, the seventh layer of the Nine Hells, and one of the most powerful Archdevils. Formerly a celestial archon known as Triel, he now bears the titles Fallen One, Lord of Flies, Lord of Lies, and the Slug Archduke. The last refers to the form he was cursed with after the Reckoning of Hell; Asmodeus has made his natural form that of a filth-covered giant slug with tiny arms.
Dispater is one of the Archdevils of the Nine Hells and the Lord of the Second in the Iron City of Dis. Also known as the Iron Duke, he is considered a master of politics and manipulation. He uses the Iron Tower in Dis as his throne.
In name, Fierna rules Phlegethos, commanding the fiery layer from her palace of rock and magma. In truth, her father, Belial, is the power behind the throne. Sequestered away in the central Hall of One Thousand Sighs and Screams, he advises his daughter in the arts of love and pain, taking a personal hand in ensuring she learns all there is to know.
Glasya is the newest of the Archdevils, and rules the Sixth, also known as Malbolge. She is first and foremost the daughter of Asmodeus, and strives to invade Stygia and slay Levistus, who murdered her mother.
Levistus, the Lord of the Fifth, the Rogue Archdevil, is the imprisoned devil prince who rules Stygia, fifth layer of the Nine Hells. Buried alive within an icy glacier, he rules his realm through influence and avatars. He is the infernal patron of vengeance and betrayal.
Mammon is the Lord of the Third, an Archdevil of considerable power. What marks Mammon is greed, lust, and trickery, for he is the very embodiment of such. Mammon is beset by enemies who once called themselves allies of the Slippery Lord. His greatest joy is to deceive someone and destroy them.
Mephistopheles (or Mephisto for short) is the Lord of Cania, the eighth circle of Hell. He was the main opponent of Baalzebul during the Reckoning of Hell, and still holds a claim to his own layer. He seeks to take Baalzebul's layer away from him, that he may gain enough power to one day challenge Asmodeus for rulership of all the Nine Hells.
Zariel rules Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. Once a mighty angel charged with watching the tides of the Blood War, she succumbed to the call of battle and, in her hubris, fell from grace into Asmodeus' clutches.
