Iphars

Scope

The motivation behind building Iphars

What is Iphars?

Iphars is a world that started changing about 50 years before its present day, after a different world started crashing into it.

It's a world of change, of devastation and recovery. Its working ecosystem has been thrown off balance by the introduction of magic, by the unstables portals scattered around the world, and by the lands changing. New people appeared around the globe, bringing new gods and cultures, wishing to claim land as their new home. The inhabitants need to adapt and fight to maintain a place in this world.

Expectations
What TO expect?

Iphars is mostly developed around Summercamp. It was originated as a world I could work in during summercamp without worrying to fit pre-made lore and the novel ideas for Daeliha. It, of course, followed a theme, albeit at the very start, the theme was "fantasy world with floating islands and lava lakes". This does NOT mean that it won't be updated outside of Summercamp, there are possibilities to be developed year round but since I have a lot of worlds, its a low possibility.

While reading Iphars, expect to read about: growth, loss of home, change, harsh times, chaotic dangerous magic, survival, understood things becoming unknown, conflict between people, dangerous exploration and research, strange appareances, and other similar things. While most of it looks dark, there will also be hope and good things, especially in places where there has been less change and there is less presence of the Ashtarians.

I intend to add a warning on top of my articles if they deal with sensitive stuff, with a couple key words that describe the warning. The more heavy things will also be behind a blur screen, which means the reader will have to click/hover on it to read the text. If you think an article needs a warning and doesn't have it, please let me know so I can add it.

What to NOT expect?

First of all, while I talk both about Iphars AND Ashtara, don't expect much lore about Ashtara. There is an article for it, there are some info about it, but this world is focused on Iphars, not Ashtara.

I mention this being a post-apocalyptic world, and it is, for the Ashtarian people. That theme probably won't appear a lot except on mentions about the other world. As mentioned, I focus on Iphars and while Iphars has suffered and is currently changing because of the end of Ashtara, it probably won't have a lot of post-apocalyptic vibes when not talking about lore related to Ashtara and its survivors.

This is an example of a "warning box".
Foundational Drama / Problems
Magic is a new force to this world and its changing the world. This magic acts differently than in Ashtara, rending all Ashtarian knowledge about magic almost useless.
As the world quickly changes, people have to be adapt quickly to these changes. Thankfully, most of the continental surfaces seem to change next to nothing.
Ashtarians have been taken out of their world and thrown into a world that already was controlled by people. Now, they have to find a place in this world, either fighting or parleying.
Portals appear around the world in a chaotic manner. No one seems to be able to predict them, and they stay open (if they are) an unknown amount of time. Their destinations is also unknown and everchanging.
Adea, the remnant of Ashtara in Iphars and floating archipelago, has islands that are in constant risk of hitting each other, falling from the sky, or crumbling into dust. It holds the ruins of an once great civilization.
Kliras, an archipelago in the ocean, is on the verge of being at war with itself. The islands broke into smaller pieces during The dawn of magic and the clans living in them are fighting for ownership of the islands.
