Session 47: The Motherwhore
General Summary
The session began around dusk on DeepFrost 1, 2597 (The Winter's Solstice), as the party was on the deck the Absolute Majesty III continuing their journey towards Foun by leaving Del bound for Gorsac. After a brief conversation with Advisor Sil'a, the party headed to the Captain's Suite where they hung their portal to their extradimensional room within an armoire. The lithe and regal gentleman would open to reveal the doorway behind which was sectioned into cubbies for each of them.
After some further conversation around how to decorate and organize the space, everyone took time for a long rest (including Zirk and Jandar). Before this could happen Tork pulled out his Teapot of Peace and caused a minor gathering of those who felt compelled to share a cup tea with him and Zirk before heading to bed. While reading for the evening Atticus had blue mists pour out of him while purple mists poured in (with the feeling of glass shards). When finished, Atticus informed them he had been taken up on his offer to Del. Eight hours of rest continued and when they awoke, they decided to split up for a few different tasks. They exited the room after 8 hours from the room's perspective, but 30 seconds to the outside world.
Atticus, Rodan Spice, and Tork went down to the gundeck where Rodan Spice and Tork began training with a rapier while Atticus drank and occasionally offered help. Their instructor was a gentleman named Marsai who taught a lot about grip strength. While this was happening, Alena Birch and Wren directed Jandar and Zirk in moving the beds from the Officers Quarters into Joint Operations LLC's plane. While the two helpers took the stealth of the mission to the extreme, Alena Birch and Wren both were still cautious. With everything in they decided to also bring in the large table and chairs from the Captain's Suite. Kale took the time to scry on his father Athelas who was sitting behind a desk working on paperwork in a wood paneled room. Near the end of the vision, a gaunt and emacited Krot, the purple Minotaur foe of Tork entered the room to sit across from Athelas.
Once reconvened in the room, Atticus summoned an unseen servant to clean while they planned thier next moves once in Gorsac. Kale and Atticus saw the unseen servant in the etheral plane, a gray face without features, an orange and green sweater vest, slacks, a gold watch, and a flat top hat (evidently for collecting tips). Kale told the group about his scrying on Athelas and Atticus was distraught he was not where he should be. They decided to continue keeping an eye and make decisions about what to do later. With some plans laid, taxes avoided but worried about, and business ventures dreamed, the rest of the time passed until they arrived in port at Gorsac the next morning.
Gorsac was not the city it was the last time Rodan Spice, Alena Birch, Tork, and Kale had set foot in it. Instead it now was lush with green grasses, bushes, and trees intermingled with wildflowers. These were only partially visible as the docks had been extended and were still pakced with boats and all thoroughfares were congested with people. From the crow's nest, Kale spotted the original Absolute Majesty which Rodan Spice became convinced he needed to take through force of intimindation and some payment. The owner of the rowboat which was now faded to just "Abs... Maj..." was a scruffy gentleman named Zjar. Rodan Spice attempted to have him name a price at first when Atticus interjected with a cost of 2,000gp. Zjar hastily agreed but Rodan Spice backed up by Tork began intimidating him. Atticus then countered with 1600gp at which point Rodan Spice simply comandeered the boat and began rowing away. Atticus set the boat on fire which Rodan Spice put out before Atticus teleported him into the water next to the rowboat and Tork brought it back to shore. At this point Rodan Spice gave a take it or leave it price of 25gp and the man took it and left as quickly as possible. The other people on the crowded dock did not seem to pay much attention to the minor scuffle as Rodan Spice sent for a crewmember to retrieve the rowboat back to the Absolute Majesty III.
The party then split into two groups. Wren, Alena Birch, and Tork headed for various shopping. They started going to a blacksmith on the North side of the Market. The mute orange/purple tiefling traded them for their wares where Tork got rid of some excess weight in the form of longswords and javelins in exchange for some dulled training weapons (daggers, swords, blunted javelins). Tork tried hugging the blacksmith but was instead punched in the jaw as he approached. They additionally bought a training dummy and mats from other merchants before heading to Ignatio's Arcaneum where they met Telyea. Tork comissioned a bow that shrieked while Alena Birch was able to comission the changing of Atticus' sword cane into a wand cane. Wren was given some helpful advice from Telyea on possible purchases in the realm of druidicly suited magical items. She was going to muse over them on the way to Foun before making any purhcases. Even though Tork did manage upon their exit to locate Durga who had sold him a water walking spell previously, Alena Birch dragged him by the ear away.
Simultaneously, Atticus, Kale, and Rodan Spice headed out brothel shopping. A street urchin gave vague directions which Rodan Spice tipped a single copper piece for only after Atticus shamed him into doing so. They did manage to find their way to a brothel eventually, rather run-down and with a sloppily written name "Good Timez". Inside they found the proprieter of the establishment, a man with both orcish and dwarvish blood, named Schmitty. After conversation, he was persauded to sell the establishment to Joint Operations LLC for 3,000GP. Originally they attempted to intimidate him into understanding he needed to shape up, but instead suggested a new manager while he reitred on his 3,000GP. This might have been due in part to the continued insistence that Kale was a minor diety or Kale's parroting of murderous remarks. He introduced them to his "Motherwhore", a woman named Samantha. She was happy to agree to the terms of running the brothel for 30% of the profit and also the secret task of collecting information about all the clients she could to send back to Joint Operations LLC. Essentinally acting as eyes and ears in Gorsac. After collecting her gray silk nightgown and giving her 2,000GP to turn the place around within a month, the three left the newly renamed establishment, Absolute Pleasantries.
With this, the party returned with all commissioned items collected to the ship. Tork gave Rodan Spice his bow which shrieked in a high pitch voice when fired "IT'S SPICY" fading as the arrow flew. Rodan Spice tried to be nice about being a rogue... given a screaming bow... As conversation began up again, the Absolute Majesty III began sailing towards Foun and the Gu'us Empire, a seven day trek across the Straight of Ver'aznek. With this, the session ended on DeepFrost 2, 2597 around dusk.Training in Private
