Session 60: The Chainsaw is for Self Defense
General Summary
The session began near 4AM on SnowFurrow 21, 2597 aboard the Absolute Majesty III as it was sailing the seas West of the Gu'us Empire and Rodanis Consortium. Wren woke up to elder Je’Son standing at the foot of her bed with two other cloaked figures. After attacking them, she and the party took them (under invisibility) to the Captain's Suite where they were able to have a discussion with the whole of Joint Operations LLC under magical protection from prying eyes (via Atticus). On the way, Kale saw a message in the stars that warned that death had occured (via the burial constellation) while Tork picked up some pineapple.
Elder Je’Son revealed to the party that shortly before his appointment to another year as elder, General Sassagonara was found dead, shriveled and blackened on the ground. After a quiet investigation, his identity was uncovered by clerics as his form was so distorted. They were unsure of who had killed him, but suspected it was either the Fisk Empire attempting to prepare for a war by destablizing the Gu'us Empire army or a manifestation of the blight to the south. Elder Je’Son informed them the Gu'us Empire was now essentially at war. What he needed from the party first was for them to deal with the blight to the South so they would not be fighting a war on two fronts. When finished they should take their crew to the Coast of Gems, transport to Foun, then travel with the fleet of timbers to liberate Skormp, redistribute wealth, and bring justice for the genocide in the Doresak Desert. He then asked if the party thought they would be able to stop the blight and if they had found the information they needed.
Joint Operations LLC explained to the Elder that they were unsure if they could, thinking they currently needed the Alter of the Titans. After some telepathic conversation between the party (and evidently between Elder Je’Son and his two gray hooded compatriots), it was uncovered that likely blood only needed to be extremely magically potent. This could come from the offspring of a diety or a very high powered magic user. While still uncertain and worried if this would satisfy the requirements they were given from the Ship of Secrets, the party decided to follow the word of the Elder and proceed with their ship towards closing the seal using the blood of "the Drow Bitch" who had escaped from them two times previously. They were given a Gate Spell to bring her to the seal for sacrafice. It was also agreed the Elder would let Atticus know should any pieces of the Altar of the Titans be uncovered or whispered about. With that Elder Je’Son departed via a teleportation circle with his compatriots.
For the next three weeks, the party traveled on the Absolute Majesty III towards the Eastern Coast of the Rodanis Consortium where they would then be able to come ashore and head to the seal (while only briefly detouring on their way to the Coast of Gems). On the journey Rodan Spice worked menial jobs with the crew to build up further trust and also bonded with Donkey, the only creature on the ship, more. Wren learned elvish from Alena Birch and everyone learned a bit of Minotaur from Tork (DC 15). Kale and Atticus also attended to some tasks.
Arriving ashore, the party headed under the direction of both Alena Birch and Wren towards the seal. After three days of travel (On SongbirdCall 9, 2597) without any skirmishes, they arrived and saw an encampment around the seal of the Drow Bitch and others. The fight began in earnest as the Drow Bitch did something with a crate around the seal that saw the flow through the crack steadily increase. Alena Birch investigated it breifly but didn't find anything extremely useful in the short time she had. Everyone else was engaged in furious combat. Kale went down but was saved by Wren's healing and Alena Birch's slaying of his agressor drow. Wren's dragon was useful but short lived as it was dispelled by the drow bitch. Tork was briefly banished to another plane of existence while Rodan Spice was suffering the consequesnes of being hit by her tentacled staff (an essentially slowed state). Atticus was offering support and tactical support throughout. Just as the tides were beginning to shift in favor of the party, the seal errupted a cone of energy wider than before, and part of it began pouring through an arc into the drow bitch. Her eyes turned black and she smiled as the session ended in this desolate location on SongbirdCall 9, 2597.Silence Goes with the Theme of Marriage
