John has never had it easy, perhaps that is why he is so angry. The Amos family had always been peasants, carrot farmers to be exact. John's father Landon decided he had enough and occupied a once monster infested ruin, and he used the families life savings to repair it. John supported his father in this and dropped the hoe to pick up the blade. He became more of a soldier to his father rather than a son. John had no passion for battle and no interest in status, but still he supported his father.
When Circi The Black Dragon sieged the Amos Keep John went out into the field to fight her men. When he returned he saw his home and his family roasting in black fire. In a single night John's entire family and livelihood were taken from him. With little other choice John marched to Furt and pledged himself to the Ealdorman as a soldier. In his time as a Furtinshire solider John saved Kane Eberson's life, as a prize he was given Jane Eberson(Aunt to Kane Eberson) as a wife. John fathered a child with her, Benjamin Amos, but he has never been a true father to the boy. John is either fighting, or drinking and playing cards, but no matter what he is doing John is never at peace, and he may never be.
