Ervo, Goddess of Observation
Awareness Silence Traceless
Divine Domains
Trickery The clerics in service to Ervo are eclectic as far as clerics devoted to the many Gods go. The unifying feature of the followers of Ervo is their belief in the superiority in the careful unobserved collection of information.
Tenets of Faith
Awareness, Silence, Traceless Like the followers of other Gods such as Zeyer, Modus and Haatiles, knowledge is of great value to the followers of Ervo. What is even more essential than the knowledge itself however, is it's collection. Intelligence on both friends and enemies is greatly diminished in value when the other party is aware that you have it and it's even worse than useless when the other party knows how you got it.
Holidays
Mortals who observe Ervo's wisdom are famously subdued, often remaining out of reach to even close friends and family. It is said that Ervo's followers are quietly restless and celebrate little, but do invent their own holidays and reasons for celebration. Ervo's followers vary the dates of these celebrations even by year so as to remain unpredictable. It is considered a great honor to be invited even once to one of these secret celebrations.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The Goddess of Observation is as mysterious as one would expect, but not so much so as to be like Modus, whose motivation and power are totally unclear. Ervo has a clear message for Mortal kind, and asks them to conduct themselves in a very specific manner. Ervo is a cracked window into the regent's study, she is the rafters high above the feast hall, she is the fly on the wall. Ervo knows that the key to growth and power is to expand one's awareness of those around them while one's self goes unnoticed. Ervo expresses her open secret to mortal kind, presumably in the hopes that the most capable mortal followers will rise to serve her in the afterlife.
Whether they serve as a watchdog or political spy, the essential elements of the greatest of all mortals in the eyes of Ervo is that their network of intelligence about both friend and foe is as vast as it is unheard of. A secret, when employed surgically, has the ability to bring sovereign allies into conflict and cause empires to collapse. Careful is the clever mortal however, glory and clout are of no use to the living, better to hoard dangerous knowledge and know just the right moment to expend the minimum number of resources necessary to complete a given task. These are the hallmarks of the mortals that are worthy to stand beside Ervo in her preparation for anything.
