Marco Baker
Marco Baker grew up in a family of Bakers who always struggled in business. Time and again the Thugs of Paulo Gardan would come round and extract protection from his parents. Every time he saw it happen it would make him angrier. A nearby Butcher let him pound out his aggression in the slaughter house and eventually taught him how to fight with an axe. Finally came the day when Marco decided to defend the family business from Gardan’s thugs. The thugs beat him to a pulp but told Gardan that he showed promise. The next day PAULO GARDAN visited his parents and told them they would pay protection no more if Gardan could take Marco under his employ. They refused but Marco in secret accepted and continued for a year to do work he loathed to keep his parents out of trouble, acting as an enforcer for Paulo Gardan as a member of his Shore Wolves .
Eventually Gardan gave Marco an order that he could not follow to Murder the children of elvish wine lord Meerandre Leshandras . He was told that he could refuse just once and sat out work that night. He knew he would not work for Gardan much longer.
Marco's best friend is Taryn Smay his next door neighbor. He is also friends with all the den of thieves at smythes having grown up across the street from them. He respects their way of taking from those who have too much instead of squeezing from the common business man.
