Draconin

Appearing straight out of legend, the Draconin are heralded as the wisest and longest living Lorkin in the world. They typically do not get involved in the lives of those around them, preferring instead to a life steadily collecting treasures and trinkets through various means. Formidable fighters and iconic strategists, they are both revered and feared all over the world.

Basic Information

Anatomy

In Lorkin form, these Dragon-like humanoid have scaly skin, piercing and usually glowing eyes, and a proud stance, seemingly taller than everyone around them. Their hands and feet shape into claws with short but sharp talons. Draconin also have an acidic compound they can spit out of their stomach that is highly flammable - this, coupled with a unique set of tonsils that allow them to create a spark gives them the ability to breathe fire.

Very reclusive people in general, little is known about their own social structure, accept that they are obviously more cunning and powerful than mankind... yet usually uninterested in dominating it.

Average Intelligence

Highly intelligent, incredibly wise, the Draconin are sought for their perspective, even among Lorkin.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Above average senses make the Draconin a formidable tracker, scout, and hunter - but its more than that. Draconin seem to just know when something is about to happen. Although this can be attributed to their longevity and thus inherent wisdom and experience, many Chaosians, as well as the Draconin themselves, believe it is something more - connected with the world around them.

Courtship Ideals

Courtship is long, as Draconin live for thousands of years, and typically is spent wooing the other party with gifts and trinkets. This process is notably what makes for rogue Draconin who mettle too much in human affairs - trying to impress a lady. This isn't the case usually, but it does happen.

Relationship Ideals

Since time is a much different construct for Draconin and distance is just time unspent, couples tend not to live together since several Draconin in one space seems to attract unwanted attention. Although very loyal to their mates, the distance and/or time apart seems not to affect them much usually.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Vahlic Khufuan Spanch Inglish, as well as a strange language they use to communicate with each other. This language is unique to their race and sounds very guttural.

Common Taboos

Most modern Draconin chose not the get involved in current affairs. They believe themselves to be (and actually are) so powerful that looking at the acts of men is to them as looking at the acts of an ant to us. Although this isn't strictly taboo, many Draconin seem to come out of the woodwork to stop one that is meddling too much in the affairs of the world.
Most notable, however, is their interspecies relations as far as courtship. Among Draconin, this is HIGHLY uncouth and INCREDIBLY taboo. A Draconin would never court a human and the pool is shallow with other Lorkin, so they usually only marry other Draconin, or chose not to marry at all.

History

The longest living of known Lorkin society, the Draconin could spin tales back to the Old Kaldran Empire herself, but mostly prefer to keep to themselves and not expose their history. Little is known about their past, except this:
Draconin claim to be from a slightly different lineage than the rest of the Lorkin, and even go as far as to say at one time they ruled the Lorkin as a noble bloodline. This lineage has, of course, been questioned by other Lorkin, but most Draconin fiercely campaign that it is true. Their claim: that they are the true offspring of great dragons from another world, that came here in peace but were betrayed and hunted.
Of course, this was eons ago, so no living Draconin was actually there... right?

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Several different types of Draconin exist in their society and is dependent on the color and sheen of their scales. Although this fact is known to the elite few who know about Draconin, no one outside of their society has been able to get definitive answers as to the types and ranking.
