Elk Hollows

Location

Elk Hollows can be found between The Great Elk Woodlands and The Icespear Peaks in The Territories Of The Boar And Elk Tribes within The Northern Wastes (In the Region later known as Hyboria).
The Elk Hollows stretch for over sixty miles, from the mountains in the north, to the woodlands in the south, and the east, with it's border the river to the west. These open grasslands become marshy towards the west.
Early morning a mist covers the vale until midday, and the weather varies with the seasons. Good hunting can be had on the vale as many species can be found including, deer, elk, boar, and wildfowl to name just a few, but beware as the hollows can be a dangerous place with hunting packs of wolves, solitary bears, or Goblin Tribes, Orc Warbands, and Lizardfolk Clans.
The Tribe of The Elk, The Whiteriver Clan, and The Bronzetusk Clan can be found roaming or hunting in the hollows and surrounding area.

At a Glance.....

The Hollows are an open grassland vale with scattered wooded areas, freshwater streams and pools, with marsh/wetland more towards the west and The White River. Heading north the ground begins to rise and becomes rocky and more difficult terrain (see Travel In The Realms article). Stone can be cut in the foothills of the Icespear Peaks and used for building.
