The Below

Underneath the idyllic streets of Springstar is a second world made of twisting tunnels and catacombs. It’s technically easy to go to the Below; nearly any sewer or aqueduct entrance will take you into the second half of Springstar. However, there are miles of tunnels, some twisting to turn back on themselves, others ending abruptly, and once you go deep enough, it’s not so simple to find a way back up to the surface. It’s easy to get lost, so when you venture down Below, make sure to have a guide, lest one of its residents finds you first.
Inspired by the tunnels underneath Paris, the Below is where criminal activity in both Highstorm and Springstar is centered, and in some cases, takes place entirely. The tunnels are mapped only via word of mouth, so they make excellent hiding places for anyone looking to get up to trouble that’s not permitted in the cities above.
If your character gains access to the Below, you can assume that they would be able to find all of the linked “landmarks” with relative ease. If they venture outside of these locations to explore further, wish to establish a spot of their own in the Below, or are setting out on an unguided journey, please contact a mod.
