Kral's Chosen

Kral's Chosen are a group of rogue Shek operating in the Stenn Desert and forming the makeshift town of New Kralia. They are led by Flying Bull who is a loyalist and an Invincible Warrior of the previous Shek ruler, King Shager, who was overthrown and executed by Esata.

Culture

Kral's Chosen are deeply rooted in the old warrior traditions of the Shek people. Their philosophy revolves around the idea that strength is everything and that the Shek must constantly test themselves in battle to grow stronger. For them, the Shek race was forged in war, and it is only through endless conflict that their people can thrive. Peace is seen as a disease that weakens the body and soul, turning warriors into soft, ineffective leaders who rely too much on diplomacy rather than the sword. They often attack travellers in the wilderness, despite the order from Esata the "Stone Golem" for all Shek to refrain from violence with outsiders.

History

The history of Kral’s Chosen is brief and stems from a rejection of the current direction of the Shek Kingdom under Esata the "Stone Golem". Esata’s more diplomatic approach, including her alliances with other factions like the United Cities, is seen as a betrayal of the Shek way of life. To Flying Bull, these alliances and the move toward peace are signs of weakness, and they believe that Esata has led the Shek away from their true purpose.

Military

The factions military is led by Screamer the False, with various warlords beneath him who command smaller groups of warriors. The glory seeking and ambitous nature of these warlords breeds sturdy warriors but not always trustworthy commanders. Overall Kral's Chosen have been unable to mount a proper rebellion against the Shek Kingdom and primarily launch raids from their makeshift stronghold of New Kralia.

Foreign Relations

In open rebellion against the Shek Kingdom and the rule of Esata the "Stone Golem", Kral's Chosen have isolated themselves from the civilized world. They are not recognized as a true Kingdom by other great powers and are treated as bandits by most.

Worship

While they do not like the "inferior" races, they are devout followers of the Code of Kral and even an outsider can earn their respect if they can prove strength in combat. Kral's Chosen worship the Shek hero Kral, a legendary warrior who faced 100 swordsmen in an ambush during his final battle and was stabbed in the back. After the first hit he kept fighting, and was dealt 100 cuts before finally going down. The book Kral's Last Stand tells of this tale.
