Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Griswold has an expansive collection of tattoos across his back, legs, chest, and arms. Along his right bicep is the only artwork with accompanying text, and, which reads 'Moradin watch over me' in ancient Dwarven sigils.
Apparel & Accessories
As the Grandmaster of the Crucible and Forge, he is, most often, seen in leather clothes and an apron, carrying his tools. When the need arises for him to sit upon his seat and rule, he cleans himself up and, even on occasion, washes his beard.
Specialized Equipment
When in battle, Griswold is a terrifying sight to behold. He wears a custom made suit of blackened Gromril armor, nigh impregnable and engraved with a multitude of divine sigils and arcane runes. Over his armor, he often wears the cloak of a dire bear, an animal which wreaked havoc on the farms outside Stormhold for almost a year before he slew it.
Though a capable pugilist, he carries a matching axe and hammer into battle, both engraved with a multitude of sigils and runes.

Personal history
In 192AV, after discovering that his father and eldest brother had been waylaying travelers and pilgrims from the Desolate Wastes, on their way to and from the Shrine of the World Dragon, and extorting those travelers for coin on penalty of trumped up legal charges, Griswold presented this evidence to the King in Rivercrossing.
After a lengthy trial, both his father and brother were hanged for treason and Griswold, the second son of the Ironhammer Clan, ascended as Marquise of Stormhold and Marshal of the Western Reaches, a title he has held honorably for nearly 30 years.
Sexuality
Though unmarried, Griswold has a longtime companion in Poppi, a stoutbred halfling woman from Arthe Dale.
Education
Like many noble children, Griswold received an excellent education from fine tutors; he even attended the Gorran Institute to become a blademaster, as an adult, but left the program before completion after an angry outburst at an instructor.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Griswold personally fought in the Siege of Rivercrossing, leading militiamen from Stormhold into Dragonfire Pass on several occasions to stem the flow of orcs, ogres, and goblin reinforcements into the city.
Griswold is no craven, and was often the first man (dwarf?) into the fray, and often the last man out. Because of this, he was Mentioned in Despatches twice, and awarded a Triumph in Rivercrossing in 202.
Failures & Embarrassments
Griswold is prone to fits of absolute rage; so much so that he has, on several occasions, lost his temper during formal events, often to the chagrin of himself or his diplomatic party.
