The Viridian Wardens
The Elven Army, known as the Viridian Wardens, has a long and proud tradition as a highly disciplined fighting force. Their records date back to the beginnings of the Draconic Age, with a multitude of still-existing units having seen combat on the field with the armies of Teraptus, Lyras and a plethora of warlords and bandit 'kings' that have cropped up over the years. Due to the longevity of the Elves, though few, there are still a few soldiers who've made the Wardens their entire life, and have seen combat with those same units for as long as they can remember.
Composition
Manpower
The numbers of the Elven Army are a well kept secret; however, during the Siege of Rivercrossing in 221, more than 10,000 Wardens were mustered and sent north to Rivercrossing within three days time.
Equipment
The Elves rely, heavily, on overwhelming ranged support. Each member of the Wardens carries a longbow, a weapon meant to be fired repeatedly before the lines close. Once in melee, the Wardens prefer a heavy-armor-shield wall approach, outfitting their soldiers with large tower shields to create a nigh-impassable wall of steel.
