The Circle of The Elder Owl

The Circle of the Elder Owl is a druidic circle that follows an archfae known as The Elder Owl.  They are zealots who see the encroachment of technology, civilisation and order as a direct enemy to nature. While most druids with similar views will simply keep to their own communities and shame outsiders, The Circle of the Elder Owl were known to go out of their way to sabotage any hint of civilisation or technology they found. They would actively search it out, and attack travellers who they believed sympathised with "the civilised folk".   After The First Fae Invasion, several beastfolk kingdoms including Drakura, Tauguan, Griplia and Asheran combined their efforts into locating the circle's members. they were all eventually found and banished into The Salted Lands, many believing them to have perished shortly after, but recent sightings indicate that the Circle of the Elder Owl are still active, and still seeking the destruction of society as a whole in Keyrae.

Mythology & Lore

Acording to the Circle of the Elder Owl, Keyrae was created by a small pantheon of powerful creatures, independent to the creators of the rest of the Material Plane's worlds. An argument between these powerful creatures erupted about exactly what should become of Keyrae once it was completed. The rest of the pantheon wanted it to remain in the material plane, but the Elder Owl, the one responsible for the creation of the trees and plants, pointed out that most material plane worlds became sick and poluted given enough time, even with the guidance from druids and other nature-focused religions. They instead wanted to make Keyrae into a demiplane on the edge of the First World, as the fae were known to be better caretakers of nature. The other gods laughed at The Elder Owl and disreguarded them, going so far as to tell them that their domain would die out when it is no longer needed, and there was no point in trying to prevent the inevitable, according to the other gods, this was the reason why time in the First World was so chaotic, it was the only way to stop the inevitable march of progress. Furious, The Elder Owl abandoned the pantheon and made themself a home deep within the First World, becoming an archfae and vowing one day to get revenge on those that wronged them and their domain.

  5. Kill animals for any reason outside of self-defence or sustenance.

  7. Allow abuse of resources
  8. Punish any who break these rules.
