Maria Louise

Empress

Maria Louise was daughter of Kingdom Robert I of Argentina and Queen Maria Pia. During the overthrow of the Emperor of Brazil, Emperor Pedro II negotiated Argentine troops for restoration by arranging a marriage between Maria and one of Pedro's grandsons. Maria married Dom Augusto when the two became of age, becoming the Empress of Brazil.
