Necromancer's Moon

"The almanacs are saying that there's likely to be a Necromancer's Moon this winter. Best to be wary."   ~Landis Blackstone, Manerray of Alcedene

Manifestation

When Mizov totally eclipses Akiri in Midwinter, the effect is the Necromancer's Moon. Whereas prominence of Mizov is always associated with spontaneous raising of the undead, a Necromancer's Moon is always the portent of a mass uprising of undead somewhere in the world.    A Necromancer's Moon appears as a hole in the sky rimmed by Akiri's light. This light is corrupted into a red or orange color, and drips down like glowing blood onto the surface of Kobos. Where it drips, the dead grow restless and hateful. All undead are empowered by the dim glow of the Necromancer's Moon, and even a few lowly zombies can be a threat to an unprepared settlement. Necromancers also find the strange energies to be useful to their work.   While attempts to track Mizov have been fruitful, not every Necromancer's Moon is predictable as the Dead travels quickly and sometimes shifts direction for no discernible reason.
