Lysælfen - High Elves
Properly known as the lysælfen, the High Elves (also sometimes called "Light Elves") are the dominant species of sylvans on the Material Planes.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Lysælfen anatomy perfectly mirrors that of other sylvans.
Genetics and Reproduction
Lysælfen reproduce sexually. Not only can they reproduce with other lysælfens, but they also are fully capable of breeding with humans, and their offspring are called half-sylvans. Half-sylvans are capable of producing their own offspring. Half-sylvans that mate with other half-sylvans produce another generation of half-sylvans. When a half-sylvan mates with a sylvan, their offspring is of the same species as their sylvan parent. Half-sylvans that mate with humans produce human children.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Their eyes are large and extremely almondine, and they sit at about a thirty degree angle, compared to hominins. Lysælfen ears are typical in shape and size for sylvans. Their faces are narrow and finely featured.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Lysælfen have very fair, almost transluscent, skin. Sometimes, there is a hint of blue or violet, but it is subtle. There is a common light pink coloration in the ears where the ear canal begins. They do not have body hair, but they do grow very fine, straight hair on their heads. Most of the time, lysælfen hair is brown, silver, or blonde, but it can rarely be blue, bright pink, or purple. These unusual colorations occur in about 8% of the population. Their eyes are usually grey if their hair is silver, and amber or gold if their hair is brown or blonde. Those with blue, pink, or purple hair always have violet eyes.
