Tomb of the Fire Eater

An enormous, pillared tomb, sealed to the public, where Acheric, Fire Eater and dozens of his generals are buried. Constructed as a post-mortem insult and final revenge against the Fire Eater, burying his and his people’s bodies condemned them to the Underworld rather than the cycle of fire and rebirth their people coveted. Depicted on the frieze of the tomb is a bas-relief of Acheric, pierced by the spear of Nicanda, being taken into the arms of Nypoloita to be ferried to the Underworld.
