Aodian City Tower

Aodian city towers make up the majority of buildings of the Main Body of Aodios and provide housing for the nefadric citizens of the middle class.

Purpose / Function

Most of the aodian middle class live in a dwelling of an aodian city tower. The specifications of a dwelling varry depending on a few factors.

• City towers closer to the center of aodios generally have a lot nicer and larger dwellings, while city towers in the outer rings put less emphasis on anemities but rather focus on defensibility.
• The further a dwelling is up, within a city tower, the more it is directed at wealthier tennants. A dwelling far up in the tower is also an indicator of higher social status.

Architecture

Aodian city towers are built from the sturdy local ubodian blackrock granite and with the nefadric architectural ingenuity. Despite being residential buildings, the towers feature many elements one can see on a nefadric stronghold. The roofs are flat and topped with battlements and machicolations, making them look more akin to tall keeps. Windows are limited to the upper half of the tower, but even then they number only a few. Those windows that exist are reinforced by steel bars, but more often weapon embasures take thier place. Thick wooden doors with a quality locks prevent unwanted visitors from entering the shared stairwell that makes the individual dwellings accessible. However in times of war, an additional solid steel yett be closed and locked shut in front of the main enterence, shielding the door from battering attempts.
