Memphis Hadid - Bamadhaj
Memphis is a famous bard from Cnidaria, known for her upbeat songs and lavish persona. She married into the aristocracy and serves as entertainment for the Speaker of Spirit and other aristocrats. The population of Cnidaria rave about her, and she's known as a dramatic, passionate and kind person. Unless you are Alphy.
She was the first fiancee to Alphy, and the two had a tumoltuous relationship that ended terribly largely due to the nature of its origin. Their marriage was arranged, and the two despised each other. Alphy has not said much, but blames her, and vice versa. He has stated she made a distasteful album about their relationship that's too catchy for its own good. Their conflict has been largely petty, but it's been enough that Alphy hates all bards and thinks they're all the same. Meanwhile, most of the population and Memphis accuse him of being the problem!
Memphis is currently married to Alphy's former best-friend Ahriman, and the two have a daughter named Tempest who is Alphy's goddaughter. He sends her teeth and bones from monsters when travelling.
The party has not yet encountered her, but she has been following Alphy's journey. Memphis went out of her way to antagonise Alphy and drag him to court over nothing, wasting his time and delaying the journey at Icereach. Addiotnally, he suspects the widespread distribution of the songs about his feats may have been attributed to her, as she knows he hates attention.

Memphis, drawn by the opportunity and the generous salary, accepted the position, eager to work closely with Cairo, whom she deeply respects.
In her professional capacity, Memphis regularly entertains the Aristocrats with tailored performances, assists with diplomatic events, and smooths over conflicts with her charm. She serves as Cairo's emotional anchor, helping him interpret feelings and achieve emotional stability. Memphis's expertise in enchantment and social dynamics shields Cairo from blame, as the public often assumes she is the one performing enchantments. This allows Cairo to navigate public perception effectively.
Memphis's social intelligence is crucial in repairing and maintaining the Xanderreef family's public image, winning allies, and dispelling rumors. She advises Cairo on public perception, ensuring his actions are viewed positively by the general public. Despite their close collaboration, Cairo occasionally seeks respite by intentionally quieting his mind during recreational breaks. Memphis manages these periods discreetly, allowing Cairo to relax and maintain his secret.
Outside of their professional relationship, Memphis views Cairo as a benefactor who recognized her potential and lifted her from poverty. She values Cairo's support and loyalty, despite occasional conflicts over Alpheidae's defiance. Memphis respects Cairo's desire for civility between them, and they consider each other close friends. Memphis occasionally attempts to leverage her friendship with Cairo discreetly, a dynamic Cairo acknowledges and manages appropriately.
The relationship between Memphis and Florence, Cairo's wife, is publicly known to be tense and antagonistic. Their rivalry is marked by frequent challenges and confrontations, with Memphis calling out Florence for her manipulative and ruthless tactics against Cairo. Florence, cold and calculating, views Cairo as weak and seeks his place as Speaker, and views Memphis as an annoyance and enabler for his weakness. Her authoritarian nature and horrific experiments contrast sharply with Memphis's charm and loyalty. The power struggle between Memphis and Florence continues to this day, with Memphis supporting Cairo's emotional and practical needs while Florence attempts to undermine him. Cairo does not engage with eithers petty disputes unless absolutely necessary.
History
Memphis and Alphy were arranged to be married after his father believed the two to compliment one another and balance each other's flaws. Things went south when Alphy took interest in his near-killer and Memphis' best friend, Losa, and the two had an affair, devestating and humilating Memphis. Alphy would introduce her to his best friend at the time as an attempt to make peace, and Memphis would eventually wed him instead - Alphy and Memphis decided to set their differences aside and live civil. Eventually, things took a turn when Alphy got into a fight with her husband and ended up mortally wounding him. Things would further esculate in the aftermath and their relationship would reach a point of no return, with the two despising one another.
