Paradigm Technocracy
Paradigm is a nation that is strung across a volcanic archipelago. It acts as one of the centres of knowledge, culture and trade in Lanmet while lacking the natural resources to make it a military power. It is known for having many guilds that compete and thrive.
Structure
The Paradigm Technocracy is an Anocracy; the elite of the guilds compete with each other for influence. Influence is gained based on the sorts of advancements, be they cultural or technological, that the guilds make.
Assets
The local area lacks the farmland, wood or natural metal deposits that many other regions have, limiting their growth. Buildings are made out of stone and small clay deposits allow some innovation. The area has ruins that hold old technology. This advantage and the guild system has made Paradigm Knowledge based economy
History
Before the year 130 , the people of Paradigm had little conflict or hierarchy. With their discovery of other groups, they formed together into guilds - extending from their different specialities on the different islands.
Demography and Population
Around five million people live on the Archipelago with about four and a half million being Parads and half a million being permanent immigrants. At any time there is room for another half a million to be temporary visitors as either traders or seekers of knowledge.
Military
The guild islands of Immortality and Justice take care of it. The warfare guild of Immortality try to copy other successful military forces. They lack the iron for the forces Bast have and the natural resistances that the Sugazeh Tribes have, nor do they have the wide open spaces for cavalry tactics like Montihume.
Their prefered methods of fighting are boat based archery strategies and copying the shrapnel crossbows of first loss, with less of the poison herbs. for close range combat they copy as much as they can of the wood knights. The forces of justice try to arm their men with metal daggers where possible and throwing spears immitated from Bakaneer.

Agriculture & Industry
Each household has a few goats linked to it with a shed for milk and cheese. There are larger herds on Ambition that the young people are expected to care for. These meals are supplemented with fish.
Trade & Transport
Trade is an important life blood for the Technocracy, they import mainly metal and wood to their small island and their main exports are finished goods or skilled craftsmen. They will trade with both Aux and Cascade and the island itself is an important stop over point for ships passing through.
